Arverne · Bayfront

The Stay

A quiet bayfront room on a family-friendly dead-end block in Arverne — living-room water views, a large workspace, the ocean a short walk away, and JFK about thirty minutes by car.

A quiet bayfront room on a family-friendly dead-end block in Arverne — bay and refuge up close, the city skyline & the planes over JFK in the distance. The flagship, and where the whole thing started.

The setting

On the calm side of the peninsula.

Arverne sits where Rockaway turns quiet, and the block is quieter still — a family-friendly dead-end with an unusual sweep of views: the bay and the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge up close, the Manhattan skyline off in the distance, and planes banking low over JFK. A fair number of guests come for that last part on purpose.

Inside, the private room looks out over the water from the living room and has a large, designated workspace — real room to get work done if you're out here for more than a weekend. The ocean is a short, flat walk away, about twenty minutes across the peninsula.

It's a real base, not a transit hotel — though when you do need the airport, JFK is roughly a thirty-minute drive, traffic depending. People come out for the water and end up staying in the neighborhood: the beach, the bay trails, and a full summer of live music a few blocks away.
